Alchemeically, petroleum is made from the mineral, plant and animal kingdom and "digested" -- gone through the Saturaian process to the peacocks tail. It is obvious that the next step is distillation since all the other steps have been taken. When someone realized this, they subjected crude oil to distillation and found all kinds of things.
This was not unlike the discovery of gunpowder. Sulfur + saltpeter + charcoal is very
close to one formula for the stone (it was a formula for the stone that
explodes and that's the way it transmutes). Or the discovery of alcohol which N.D.Walsh
said was a mistake God allowed.Hint Hint

Witness the fact that gasoline is an extreme explosive. Also, witness the fact gasoline is an extreme solvent. Also, witness the fact that gasoline is extremely volatile. This is something that can do a fair imitation of ether (which is probably "the one thing" that the philosophers stone is made of).
In Harold's opinion, the United States is misusing this wonderful alchemic substance (unless there's a lot the oil companies aren't telling us about the byproducts of crude oil) if this oil were used properly and transformed properly, it could produce wonders unguessed by a world that has already produced wonders from oil. Then there would be the "bare maximum" for all. We need to look; no, we must look at what has gone before and use it in the light of today's discoveries!
