Sumaria (also known as the Summer-Land or Shummeria)
The Sumarians of ancient times were a great people. Even though they were primitive by our standards and only had mud-brick building, they were advanced astrologically and magickally.
Some people say they were the first historic (written down) civilization. They developed "cuneiform" (which means "wedge") writing. In museums there are still thousands upon thousands of tables that have yet to be translated. It's not hard to see that a Sumarian Grimore could have surfaced to be translated by Simon.

The ancient ones, Azagthoth and Tiamat (equivalent of Leviathan) and their minions were creating such chaos that they had to be put to sleep or transformed (they could not be killed). Ennki, Lord of the Wand of Lapis, along with the 50 Names of M fought them. Tiamat was defeated and disabled by separating her body into two parts that became the sky and the earth. With her blood, Azagthoth created mankind. In a sense, you could say that the gods in their wisdom knew that humankind would strive always upward toward redemption and would nullify the blood (evil) of Tiamat.
[Your webmaster thinks this is a bunch of hooey (Tiamat was the mother who produced order out of chaos - not the trouble maker) produced by a newly liberated male society (after all, women and goddesses ruled even until early Sumarian times). I guess if one of my sex, after representing the goddess's husband for year was killed (real blood) to be symbolically resurrected by the marriage of the priestess/goddess to a new son/husband (concrete thinking stage-do the actual thing to understand it), I'd be a bit miffed, too. Osiris and Jesus are our race's advancement to the abstract thinking stage -- the realization is as effective as the real event, i.e., if you connect to and accept the gift of the Christ Jesus and his blood (not necessarily the church's spin), you are as acceptable as Christ to God/dess, IMHO. Let's get on the Tree of Life, understand (as Jesus demonstrated) that men and women are of equal value and importance, and BALANCE.]
Others consider the diameter (literally the Goddess Mother) symbol to be the separated Tiamat above and below the line of the sea (or desert plain).
